letting go~
i figured out why it is that we age so much from our 20's to 40's. KIDS!! SLEEP DEPRIVATION!! another thing that i discovered today: Potty training should be called "mamma training." this is my trainer...
barrett had a doctors appointment this morning. so as we were walking from the car to the clinic, about halfway there, i decided to see what brink would do if i DIDNT hold her hand. suprisingly enough, she actually listened! when right up to the door. i.was.shocked.
Between the time that his appointment was over and the time i had to go to work was a couple hours. at this point, i was regretting my decision to leave my stroller at home. my bestie had a sick baby, so there was no going over there to hang out. but she DOES have a stroller!!! so off we went to the mall.
i parked by the door that is right next to the kids play area, since brink was going to have to walk with me.(because barrett was in the stroller.) To my suprise, the play area had dissapeared. supposedly, it moved to the sears wing (not really.)
Anyone that has had/babysat a 2 year old knows, that at the drop of a hat, a simple "no! dont touch....anything" could turn into a full blown drama fest of a fit. I predicted this trip was going to be a nightmare. but once again, to my suprise, this is how we spent the time looking for the play area....
i was so proud. my little "helper" actually helping. since we couldnt find the kiddy thing, we stopped and had snacktime on one of the mall's benches. barrett decided he HAD to get out. guess who wound up in the stoller?
i couldnt believe how hard it was to just see what would happen. let her make her own choice. but even when she made the wrong one, like refusing to get outta the kiddy quarter ride,) i Was there to hold her hand, correct her, love her, hug her. sounds like someone else in my life...
